“So, finally I started” - this was my opening phrase in my first attempt with blogging.
The first aavtaar like all starters was on blogspot.com (with the same name -http://sansylos.blogspot.com) and has been there with not so frequent posts for almost more than a year now - 15 Posts in about 16 months! Not so bad I say, considering I just started blogging as an experiment and that too during the time when I took the mandate of building Mumbai Operations for Quasar - One year into the role I don’t regret not being active on my blog as much as I take pride in seeing the team and business we have been able to build up in Mumbai. Now that the business seems to have settled down with good team in place & active client relationships I thought of venturing out again - this time a little more seriously by owning my own domain - so I booked sansylos.com, bought hosting space and installed wordpress. Not so difficult, when you have been there and done that - the journey gave me a deja vu and took me almost a decade back when I started my web experience by booking space on geocities.com and then graduated to book a domain name and build a portal. The entire cycle seemed to have repeated itself, the difference this time being - the length of the cycle (which was much longer than my first time) & form (here form remains same - I am still building a personal space where as in my first attempt I graduated from building a personal space to build a commercial space). Building a commercial space was quite a no brainer during those times I guess as the objective was never to monetize or commercialize it - it was more for experimenting and experiencing entrepreneurship first hand..as I have grown up seeing the space more closely (and commercially) I think it will take quite a lot of thinking, due diligence & right team to build something commercially viable in the long run. Now, that I officially own ( and not leased ) a space for myself I shall try harder to keep it up to date.
